Magdalena Frakowiack is so incredibly stunning and the dogs are precious. miss poly has been spotted a few times in the past week at the prestigious cannes film festivals. why was she there? I don't know, but she looked damn good.

she's not even my favorite model but she is still one of the "famous" people i would love to meet. it's not fair that one women can look so incredible all the time! homegirl's candids are better than some editorials.

I love airports, especially big crazy ones like Hartsfield-Jackson. being at the airport, in my case anyways, means I'm going somewhere else, even if I've been there before I still can't know what to expect. hopefully one day it will be to catch the flight marking my move to the west coast.

sasha is the model muse of right now with unforgettable face that will be remembered highly in fashion history. whether you like her or not homegirl can work. everyone from karl to miucca to zac has found her to be inspiring and though she has not garnered as much fame as the likes of gisele and gemma that does not make her any less of a fixture in the fashion industry.

this outfit is a fierce, hot mess only an established model could work. and sasha looks amazing. each piece of the ensemble-the peacock feather robe, the powdered hair, the tiara- are puzzling on their own, but together they make perfect sense.

wow.

ashley olsen is, in my humble opinion, the best dressed at the met gala 2009. the red carpet was pretty weak sauce this year, but ash and a few others took the opportunity to show everyone who's HBIC. best part: the dress is from her own line, the row.

the irony of it is miss olsen, although a muse, is not a model while the theme of the gala was "model as muse."

this one I am quite proud of, it turned out so well. Cha is wearing it higher on her arms then it naturally falls; it actually hangs very low and loose down the back. not the easiest to wear a bra with haha but what is anymore?

I always love the shoes at Marni. here's what consuelo castiglioni brings us for fall 2009, my favorite shoes for the season. oh and the tights, I really like these tights. I love tights though, I will take tights with shorts or a skirt any day over jeans.

this is based on the abstract style of Richard Diebenkorn. the canvas had a layer of modeling paste and texture was added by gesso with a pallet knife. this painting is the abstract view from a south-facing window that over looks the highways.acrylic 12x16

I don't usually work with acrylics. not bad paints, I just prefer oils.

now that it is all over, here are my top 3 shows for Fall/Winter 2009-10

Commes de Garcons by Rei Kawakubo

I'm not a pink girl, but I especially loved the kiss scarves worn on the girl's faces. the thought of wrapping up in jackets, coats, and even blankets for winter really appeals to me. besides, I always love CDG.

Miu Miu by Miuccia Prada

I loved both Prada and Miu Miu this season. At Miu Miu, the big comfy coats paired with the bikini style bras looked nontraditional, and defeated the purpose of the wool coat, but lovely none the less. with the exception of the furry pair, I loved loved the shoes, especially the ones that matched the beaded tights.

Missoni by Angela Missoni

oh, Missoni, one day I WILL be able to afford you and all of your classic-patterned glory. really, with this collection you had me at the scarves. again, the bundling up in coats, sweaters, and scarves is how I want to look in the winter. if it ever gets cold here, which it has been lately!

what can I say, I have a type. but I don't know what to say about the light pink, because I don't wear it or like. if I find anything on the cheap that looks like any of this maybe with grey instead, consider it mine. the collections either showed bundled up, see through top, or hey, even both. I personally love all the excess layers, especially blankets and scarves.

side note- I know this has been so dead, but my camera is on the fritz. good news is I will have more lovely art up starting TOMORROW! come back and che che check it out, man.

I love Christmas lights, especially blue ones. they really bring peace of mind. the season is very much over, but I finally got this developed. they have that "light-drawing" effect, some turned out hella cool. enjoy!

I recently visited Indiana University, and when I went to the museum, all I could say was "Wow". first of all, I had no idea colleges even had museums. the museum was so impressive, having originals by Pollock, Duchamp, Monet, and Picasso. the building itself was designed by I. M. Pei. needless to say, the school has a fantastic art program! here's what I managed to snap with my little lomo fisheye, haha.

this is my version of one of the photos from Jourdan Dunn's editorial from, i-D September 2008, which she was on the cover of. the title of the editorial is "the witching hour". the shot from the magazine:

I'm still working on another painting based on a shot from aline weber's editorial, but it is much more abstract as to say the influence is looser, the painting is not a copy of the photo. that entire issue was filled with amazing pictures, if I could I would sit for days painting them all.

I like fashion blogs. I like art blogs and photography blogs, too. I have quite a few bookmarked, and from what I can tell there aren't any based in Atlanta, GA. Granted, there is not a strong art or fashion community, but this is where I am and that's what I like. So this will be about finding art and hopefully expand the art culture. And how to make do.
